President Goodluck Jonathan has only succeeded in producing poor quality leadership because he has surrounded himself with clueless advisers since his days as deputy governor, the Buhari campaign organisation said yesterday.
The campaign team said Jonathan had himself to blame for the poor quality of aides and advice he had used from since his days as deputy governor of Bayelsa State.
It said in a statement by its media and publicity director, Malam Garba Shehu, that the recent statement credited to the president that most of the advice he got were worthless, is a clear indication that the president lacks sound judgment, bearing in mind that a leader is only as good as those who surround him.
Shehu added that the revelation by the Jonathan is an indication since the president has been in various leadership positions, the people have had to cope with mediocre, insincere and poorly thought-out and un-coordinated leadership.
"It is therefore no wonder that leadership by Jonathan at the national level has been in fits and starts, lacking coordination, depth and vision and unable in the past six years to lift the country from where he (Jonathan) met it. We in the APC consider it an act of God, especially a few weeks to the March 28 presidential polls, that Jonathan who insists on his re-election, should make this revelation which to a large extent gives a deep insight into his person and character", the statement said.
