Former vice president Atiku Abubakar, on Friday, January 5, said the allegation by Paul Unongo, the chairman of Northern Elders Forum (NEF) that he (Atiku) is a chief financier of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria was false.
In a statement released by his media office in Abuja, Atiku said that although he is a bonafide Fulani, he is still “a thoroughly detribalized Nigerian that would never favour one ethnic group over another.”
The Atiku’s media office recalled that after last year’s massive flood in Benue state which affected over 100,000 people, the former vice president donated cash to the Benue state government to cater for the affected families.
Atiku has the honourary title of Zege Mule U Tiv which means ‘the biggest shade of the Tiv people’.
Reports had it that the founder of Divine Hand of God Prophetic Ministries International, Abuja, Prophet Emmanuel Omale, has made a prediction that former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, would not secure the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to run for the 2019 presidential election.
It was also gathered that Omale said in a statement in Abuja on Wednesday, January 3, that it was revealed to him that PDP governors would work against Atiku and finally force him out of the party, adding that only Atiku could give the PDP a respectful outing.
